Tal Wilkenfeld Breaks from New Album to Tour with Herbie Hancock

After announcing her work on several upcoming albums, Tal Wilkenfeld revealed that she will be joining Herbie Hancock on the road as he tours in support of his newest effort, The Imagine Project. Wilkenfeld broke the news on her Facebook page, adding that to do so, she will be taking a break from making her new album.

The tour will take the group through North America and Europe from June until September, including TV performances on the David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon late night shows. During the Carnegie Hall and Hollywood Bowl performances, special guests including Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Wayne Shorter, and others will also join Hancock’s band.

Wilkenfeld also announced her new Twitter account, which she started June 11th. Her new website is still under construction.
