Muse Bassist Speaks on Band’s Future

Muse has announced they will be beginning work on new album early next year. The band, which has put out five CDs so far, will begin after finishing their current tour schedule and after a break.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme explains, “We’ll definitely start working on a new album next year. I think the most time we’ve had off is about six weeks in the last 12 years, so we’re due a break.” The group will be finishing up the current tour on December 19 in Perth, Australia.

Wolstenholme has also been making headlines by speaking up about the band’s involvement in the Twilight series. Muse songs have been featured prominently in each of the films, but Chris doesn’t seem to be a fan of the saga.

“…sometimes you’ve just got to get your music out there in different ways,” he told BBC’s Radio 1. “It’s very difficult in America, because you don’t have anything like Radio 1, nothing is national. You have to take every opportunity you get over there, and sometimes you have to sell your soul.”
