John Paul Jones: Tidal
Here’s John Paul Jones in rare shredding form! Here he uses his 10-string with a pitch shifter to tear through this song on the Guitar Wars DVD.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
This an amazing video, of one of my favorite bassists, I love 8 strings and he just makes love to it on stage
But isn’t that a 10 string bass? it had 5 courses
the time at :55 is 4/4 like the rest of the tune…just a syncopated rhythm figure…keep a foot tapping through it all and you’ll get it.
tapping it out gets me a 4 then a 3 then back to 4/4…

Jones is the greatist
jones is playing the hell out of a bass
actually a fairly boring repetative piece
Just give me The Lemon Song! John’s great but this junk bores me to tears.
Wow,now I know what he has been up to all of these years !!!
