Gear Watch: Tascam GB-10 Trainer/Recorder
Tascam has updated their trainer series again with the unveiling of the new GB-10 Trainer/Recorder. The practice station allows you to load MP3s onto the 2GB SD card and then manipulate the track to suit your needs by looping, slowing down, and pitch shifting. The 1/4” input accepts both bass and guitar, and onboard effects like amp modeling and reverb help to make your sound more natural. The GB-10 even records in an overdub mode to let you build up arrangements. A built in metronome and chromatic tuner round the box out to keep you in tune and in time.

I was interested in the Tascam MP-BT1. It was discontinued in favor or this “upgrade” which is mainly a guitar trainer, as they took out the effects for bassists, namely the Bass Canceller on MP3 Playback and the Bass range Booster & Enhancer on MP3 playback. They should not call this a bass trainer.
