Willie Weeks Joins Eric Clapton for Upcoming Tour
Legendary session bassist Willie Weeks will be hitting the road with Eric Clapton on a string of tour dates in support of guitarist’s latest CD, appropriately titled Clapton.
The touring band will also feature Steve Gadd on drums, Chris Stainton on keys and Michelle John and Sharon White singing background vocals. The group will be kicking things off in Vancouver, BC then hitting up the West coast through February and March.
Weeks has recorded and toured with musicians of almost every genre, but many bassists know him for his jaw dropping 3 1/2 minute solo on “Voices Inside (Everything is Everything” from Donny Hathaway’s Live album.
Clapton also chose Weeks for his band during the Crossroads Guitar Festival tour in 2006-2007.
