Gear Watch: LeCompte Chewy Linton Signature Bass

LeCompte Chewy Linton Signature BassLeCompte Basses has introduced their first signature model bass, the “Chewy Linton.” Chewy Linton is the bassist for the Austin, Texas-based band, Ember, who released their major label debut earlier this year.

Linton describes the bass as somewhat of a mix of a Spector NS and the Warwick Thumb, explaining there were features of each he loved but when combined created an instrument that truly suited his needs.

Available in four, five, and six string versions, the bass features a solid Bubinga body with a bolt-on neck utilizing six bolts. The hardware is all Hipshot, including the tremolo bridge that Linton opted for. The Nordstrand pickups are pushed back towards the bridge, as are the controls. Linton said that he moves his right hand around a lot so moving back the controls was a strategic move to keep them out of his way.

The LeCompte “Chewy Linton” Signature bass is available with your choice of options, from woods to hardware color and pickups. The bass starts at $1,400.

LeCompte “Chewy Linton” Signature Bass Specs:

  • 34” or 35” Scale
  • Solid Body Construction
  • Slim, 24 Fret Bolt-on Neck
  • Satin Finish
  • Nordstrand Pickups
  • Hipshot Hardware
