For the final session of Euro Bass 2004, bassists Matthew Garrison, Darryl Jones, Mike Pope, Linley Marthe and Pippo Matino took the stage, with drummer Claudio Romano for this bass-powered performance. Marthe’s solo at the beginning is the bomb.
As much as I love all these guys, this was not the performance I was hoping for. My jaw always drops to the floor whenever Linley performs, but this wasn’t so great. Every one of those guys can still blow me away. So, however bad they may sound on a single performance, I will always sound like a beginner in their presence.
