Wally Voss: Live Bass Solo (1980’s)

Joseph Garcia sent in this video of bassist Wally Voss, a shredding master who spent time in the ’80s touring with Yngwie Malmsteen.

Here is a face-melting solo he played with the band Front Runner, before joining Malmsteen.

“This is a must-see for fans of Cliff Burton and Billy Sheehan,” Garcia wrote, and we couldn’t agree more!

Name of the band was Frontrunner, Chuck Doty on Drums, Mike Corbin on guitar, recorded at the old Agora South Ballroom in Hallendale Beach Florida. It not so much as who Wally played with, but more for what he did with the bass. Wingnut might have been a shred master but it was Wally who taught him how to tap. Wally was friends with the best, as a recording star for Shrapnel Records he can be found on Joey Taffolla “out of the sun” album. Sadly Wally passed away from Cancer in 1992
