Bud LeCompte Unveils V-Groove Basses

Bass builder Bud LeCompte has just unveiled a new line of vintage style basses under the moniker V-Groove Basses. The new models include the Nola and Provision basses, available in 4 and 5 string versions.

Though custom options are available, the basses come standard with alder bodies and three piece 1/4 sawn maple necks. The fingerboards are either maple or pau ferro. The Nola features Nordstrand NPJ single coil pickups, where the Provision comes with Nordstrand NP4 or an “early style single coil pickup.”

“These handmade basses are the result of an almost constant barage of requests we receive for vintage style instruments,” LeCompte explains.

The 4-string models start at $1,800, while the 5-stringers start at $2,000. For more details, visit the V-Groove website.
