Anthony Jackson: Live Bass Solo (1980)
I sometimes forget how long Anthony Jackson has been performing and showcasing his unique approach to the bass. This is a great reminder.
In July 1980, Jackson took the stage with Sadao Watanabe at Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. This clip features an excellent solo by Jackson (around the 5:45 mark, if you’re in a hurry).
I need that music stand! Anthony Jackson such a musical marvel – wow!
I’ve been a huge fan of this man since he gave us those unforgettable parts in the O’Jays’ “For the Love of Money”. This performance is just unbelievable! Thanks for posting :)
What an amazingly tasteful bassist! Anthony Jackson has never ceased to WOW me!
around 7 min he’s qouting from “Big bottom” by spinal tap.
nice solo, though the facial expressions in this video are even better.
