Ashdown Engineering Announces Limited Edition Little Bastard LB-550 Amp
Ashdown Engineering has unveiled a limited edition of their Little Bastard amp head called the LB-550. The new amp couples their Little Bastard tube preamp section with the 550-watt digital power section from their new MiBass head, resulting in tube tone in a lightweight head weighing in at 6.2kg (approximately 13.6 puonds).

The preamp uses ECC83 and ECC82 tubes and has both high and low gain inputs. Besides Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs, tone shaping controls on the LB-550 include a Mid Shift, a Bass Shift, and Bright switches. It also has an front panel-mounted effects loop, a mute switch, a balanced DI, and Ashdown’s signature VU meter.
Limited to 50 heads, each Ashdown Little Bastard LB-550 will be numbered and come with a limited edition certificate signed by designer Dave Green and Ashdown MD Mark Gooday. It’s available now for £719 (approx. $1,152 USD). For more info, visit the Ashdown Engineering website.
