Bootsy Collins Joins “Experience Hendrix” Tour

The Experience Hendrix tour is gearing up for a new year, and they’ve added bassist Bootsy Collins to the mix. Bootsy joins the tour for eight dates.

Bassist Billy Cox, the only surviving member of both the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys, once again is part of the tour, handling the other dates.

Bootsy is no stranger to Hendrix-related projects. In 2004, he performed on the title track of Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix. In 2010, Bootsy was the narrator for the documentary, Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child, which was included in the West Coast Seattle Boy deluxe box set.

Numerous guitarists are featured at different times throughout the tour including Taj Mahal, Robby Krieger [The Doors], Eric Gales, Keb’ Mo, Eric Johnson, Dweezil Zappa and others.
