Stuart Clayton Releases “The Bass Player’s Guide to Scales & Modes” in iBook Format
Bassist/author Stuart Clayton is taking his popular bass method books and publishing them in iBook format, offering new interactive features for the books previously only available in print. The first release is Clayton’s The Bass Player’s Guide to Scales & Modes, re-imagined for the digital format.
The iBook format introduces full versions of each of the supporting tracks, as embedded audio clips within the relevant notation. Clayton provides the bass tracks, for reference, and the backing tracks, to play along.
Clayton is pleased with this new format for music education.
“The user experience with the new Apple books is extraordinary, and navigating through the different sections couldn’t be simpler,” he said. “This version of the book also includes an Intro video and a full Glossary section.”
The Bass Player’s Guide to Scales & Modes iBook edition is available worldwide, through all 32 of the iTunes stores for $14.99.
Clayton is playing additional releases for later this year, including Ultimate Slap Bass, which will be split into three books: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, and a new book on sight reading will be released simultaneously in print and iBook formats in late 2012.
