Matthew Kniffin: The Evolution of Consciousness
As a freshman heading to Berklee College of Music, Matthew Kniffin may be young, but don’t let that fool you. He’s been playing for 11 years already, and has already released a solo bass EP called Awaken.
The bassist describes himself as socially conscious and creates his music to “reflect ideas of how we must change our relationship with Earth and each other as a human race as we move forward in civilization.”
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
