Ashdown Introduces Dr. Green Series Bass Effects Pedals

Ashdown has introduced the Dr. Green series to their lineup of bass effects pedals. The lineup includes five effects: the Octa Dose (Octaver), the Bearded Lady (Fuzz), the Doctor’s Note (Envelope Filter), Bass Verb (Reverb), and the Aspirin (Compressor). Handmade in the UK, the pedals are housed in steel stompboxes and feature true bypass.

Ashdown Dr. Green Octa Dose Bass Pedal

The Octa Dose pedal utilizes components from Ashdown’s sub harmonizer, which was originally included in their ABM range of bass amps. It’s pared down for simplicity to two knobs – one for direct signal and the other for the octave signal. Ashdown says the Octa Dose tracks down to a low B and provides sounds from “subtle undertones to full on sub synth bass.”

The Bearded Lady fuzz has separate Hi and Lo controls for the fuzz as well as the fuzz output, resulting in a preserved bottom end and transient highs for definition.

Ashdown Dr. Green The Aspirin Bass Pedal

Finally, The Aspirin is the Ashdown’s compressor in the Dr. Green line. The pedal has an Input control to drive the amount of signal that is processed by the Ratio knob. The pedal’s output gain is then set by the Output knob.
