The Rolling Stones Announce 2013 “50 and Counting” Tour Dates

Rolling Stones - 50 and CountingAfter playing a handful of shows at the end of last year, The Rolling Stones are continuing to celebrate their 50 years together with new “50 and Counting” tour dates. The trek kicks off May 2nd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles before making its way across the U.S. with a few Canadian dates and skipping across the pond to wrap up in London’s Hyde Park.

Though former bassist Bill Wyman made appearances at the band’s two shows in London in 2012, it appears he won’t be making appearances at the upcoming performances. In an interview with Express, the 76-year-old musician expressed his disappointment in his role he played.

“Keith [Richards] in particular made me think that I would be a large part of it but when it came to it they told me they only wanted me to do two songs,” he said. “I came off just as I was warming up and getting into it. When they asked me to go to America for two weeks to do three shows there, I said for two songs? No thank you.”

The tour will instead feature the bass stylings of Darryl Jones, who has played with the group since Wyman’s departure in 1993. Jones shared the news on his Facebook page, saying “Gotta shine my grey patent shoes for next round of the ‘50 and Counting’ tour. See you out there!”

  1. I’m overjoyed that The Stones are touring the U.S.A., but saddened they are not doing any dates in Florida! I have passes for the concert, but have to travel to Penn. to catch them! This really sucks! Still going, though! Wouldn’t miss the chance to see the World’s greatest Rock n’ Roll band in the World! My love for them is Not in vain!

  2. I was hoping the stones were coming back to albany ny, or at least the madison square garden, no ny dates?

  3. Have to travel to Calgary to see them.

  4. Why don’t they come to BC! Com’n, it would be soooo awesome if they came! Prince George, BC!
