Ibanez Introduces Mike D’Antonio MDB3 Signature Bass

Killswitch Engage’s Mike D’Antonio and Ibanez have teamed up to release the bassist’s third signature model, the MDB3. Based on the company’s Destroyer model, the bass’s mahogany body features beveled edges to provide right arm comfort while picking. Its three-piece maple neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard inlaid with a MDB logo at the 12th fret.

The pickup departs from D’Antonio’s previous basses with a Seymour Duncan SPB-3. Another interesting feature is the tone control, which replaces a typical front-facing knob with a recessed trim pot on the back that can be adjusted with your fingernail.

The Ibanez Mike D’Antonio MDB3 comes factory tuned to F-C-G-C. It will be available in the coming month with a street price of $799. For more info, check out the Ibanez website.

  1. I’m kind of skeptical about the tone switch on the back, but I never use it anyways so, I really don’t care.
