Peerless Guitars Introduces Retromatic B1 and B2 Basses
Peerless Guitars has launched a pair of 4-string versions of their Retromatic guitar with the Retromatic B1 and B2 basses. Sporting a vintage vibe, the basses feature a chambered, semi-hollow body design finished in natural, teal green, honey sunburst, ivory, black, gold or candy apple red colors.
The B1 is fitted with a single humbucker designed by Matt Gleeson of Monty’s London and positioned near the bridge, while the B2 adds another humbucker in the neck position. Each model has a 6-way Varitone switch as well as volume and tone controls.
The Peerless Retromatic B1 and B2 basses are available with street prices of $1,499 and $1,599, respectively. Left handed models are available by special order.

Given the price point, I’m curious about their country of origin. That curiosity led me to their website…and the one thing I learned there was that their website may very well be the worst website I have ever seen.
Peerless is MIK. Many of the 80’s-90’s Epiphones were made in their plant.
My gut reaction is “MIK goes for $1.4 – 1.5 K now?” But I’m embarrassed to admit that, since it probably says more about me being old than it does about MIK pricing…
MIK is the new MIJ, now that Cort and Samick have moved to Indonesia.
HAHA I agree. The website made me laugh at loud
That piece of shit will look nice hanging on a wall in between an old Coca-Cola sign and a framed poster of a ’57 Chevy.
niiiiiice!
duesenberg anyone?
This Peerless bass is about a grand cheaper than the Starplayer that it’s copying, though.
