Jesús Rico Pérez: “Come With Me, My Love” Michael Manring Cover
Michael Manring’s “Come With Me, My Love”, which appeared on Soliloquy, is one of the great solo bass compositions and performances.
So it was a thrill to hear bassist Jesús Rico Pérez perform his take – so much so, that I asked Michael to share his thoughts on the performance. Here’s what he said:
“Many thanks to Jesús for his interest in this composition! It’s kind of a handful so I admire his conviction for taking it on. I like the faster tempo and I’m glad he’s playing it with dynamics. I’m hoping I can release a transcription of it one of these days. I’m kind of proud of the composition and it’d be nice to have it all laid out for anyone who’d like to give it a try.”
We’d love to see that too.
Hi Corey, it is a great honor for me!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
