Wayman Tisdale’s “Absolute Greatest Hits” Released

Wayman Tisdale: The Absolute Greatest HitsDuring his “second” career, the late Wayman Tisdale completed nine albums – four of which reached #1 on the jazz charts in the U.S.

A new compilation album, The Absolute Greatest Hits, has been released by Artistry Music, featuring twelve tracks from Wayman’s albums. The compilation includes guest appearances by George Duke and Toby Keith.

Before Wayman’s musical career, he was a NBA star with the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. He was an All-American at The University of Oklahoma and a 1984 Olympic gold medalist.

Tisdale’s father was a well-known pastor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tisdale taught himself how to play the bass and began playing at his father’s Sunday church services.

When he retired from the NBA, Tisdale turned his attention to his “first love” – music – and released Power Forward. That debut reached #4 on Billboard charts.

Tisdale passed away in 2009 after a battle with bone cancer. He was 44.

The Absolute Greatest Hits is out now on CD and digital formats (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
