Adamovic Debuts Concept Series with “The Dark” Bass

Adamovic has unveiled their first in their line of concept basses called “The Dark.” Available in 4-, 5-, and 6-string versions, the bass was developed after years of feedback from players and numerous prototypes.

“The Dark was designed to be a versatile bass while having its own unique voicing,” Adamovic writes. “For The Dark we chose a combination of African padouk, walnut and ebony. This combination produces a warm, growly, dark sound but with very articulate clear notes that will cut through any mix. The Dark will feel right at home whether you play in a band setting, the studio or doing a solo performance.”

Standard features on the Dark include a body of walnut with an African Padouk sound layer, a figured walnut top, a five-piece African Padouk and walnut neck, and an ebony fingerboard. Each bass is built by hand with a hand sculpted body that has an X-ergo carved back to fit your body. The neck is also hand picked from straight grained aged stock.

The pickups are a pair of the company’s custom made Bassbars. Each pickup has a switch to toggle between series, single coil, and parallel modes. Electronics can be passive or active with the option of a Glockenklang or East 3-band preamp.

Adamovic’s The Dark Bass can be built with several options from scale length to hardware and more. It’s available direct with prices starting around $4,800.

The body style is very similar to the Marlaeux MBass.
