Paul McCartney Hospitalized, Tour Dates Postponed

Paul McCartney: Out There Tour

Paul McCartney has been forced to postpone his appearances in Japan and South Korea this month after being sidelined by a viral infection. The 71-year-old is reportedly hospitalized in Tokyo, although his admittance was not confirmed.

“Thank you so much for your kind messages of support. I’m so very touched,” the former Beatle stated on his website. “Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I’d be feeling better today. I’m so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down.”

There’s no word as to his exact condition, though another statement said he was still not feeling better and that the cancellations were unavoidable. His U.S. tour dates are still set.

McCartney’s latest album, New, was released in October. The bassist/songwriter has just unveiled a music video for the track “Appreciate.”

We’re wishing a speedy recovery, Sir Paul!
