Boss has introduced the BB-1X Bass Driver, a compact pedal that employs the company’s MDP technology to offer sounds ranging from natural clean tone to a heavy distortion. Beyond a drive pedal, the BB-1X has EQ controls and a 1/4-inch line output to add preamp and DI functionality.
The pedal’s distortion circuit analyzes your bass signal to respond to your playing without altering the fundamental tone of your instrument and amp. It also has a Blend knob for adding direct signal into the mix. Further tonal sculpting takes place with Low and High knobs.
It has two outputs: one normal output and one direct line out. The balanced line output is designed for direct connection to either a PA or recording device and is specially tuned to retain presence and punch.
The Boss BB-1X is expected to ship this month with a street price of $159.
