Jason Everett: The Return

Jason Everett, aka Mister E, sent us this clip of his song “The Return,” which features the bassist playing on his fretless seven string.

“‘The Return’ is a recent composition and is the fourth and final movement of my epic composition ‘Moksha: The Elimination of All Duality,'” Everett writes. “[Moksha] is the sonic story of a soul that lives in a village, battles with death, travels through the oneness of oneness, and is ultimately reborn in this movement, hence the name, ‘The Return.'”

Gaurav Chanda provides vocals for the song, which Everett doubles before they take respective solos.

Very nice… looks like he’s playing a custom Conklin, too, which is gorgeous! Om. Unusual to hear bass so prominently mixed with Middle Eastern style music… Two of my favorite sounds! Thanks for sharing this amazing piece.

  2. Love it. I’ve always been intrigued by middle-eastern and Indian culture. This is a fascinating blend. As Carolyn notes below, it is interesting to hear the bass figuring so prominently.
