Eastwood Guitars Aims to Revive 1968 Saturn IV Bass
Eastwood Guitars is bringing back another blast from the past with their own version of the Saturn IV Bass. The hollowbody model was originally introduced by Vox in 1968 and was only in production for one year, making it a rare instrument to come across.
The bass will be constructed with a bound laminated maple body, a maple top featuring bound f-holes, and a bound maple neck. Eastwood will be keeping it old school with a floating wood bridge and a classic trapeze tailpiece. The pickup will be a single coil with volume and tone controls.
The Eastwood Saturn IV Bass was introduced on the company’s crowd-funding pre-order platform and will go into production once their goal of $1,200 is met by September 10th. The bass has a targeted final price point of under $499. Pre-order deposits of $150 will also receive a free gigbag.
