Chaka Khan, with Andrew Gouche: Stay, Live 2011
Andrew Gouche recently posted a set of videos from his time playing with Chaka Khan. “I’m very proud of my time as Musical Director with CK, We had a great team!,” Gouche wrote.
Here’s a great clip of the bassist laying it down with Khan on the Rufus song “Stay,” live in 2011. Gouche sets up the groove with a muted solo bass line before digging into that huge tone we all love.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
I love this concert! Here’s “Ain’t nobody” from the same concert, with Chaka first singing along with Andrew’s intro, then playing air bass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjNifAFOX68&feature=youtu.be&t=216
