Dunlop Introduces Flatwound Bass Strings

Dunlop Flatwound Bass StringsDunlop went old school at NAMM this year by introducing a new set of flatwound strings. The Dunlop Flatwound Strings are designed to give the tone of classic rock, funk, and R&B recordings while providing a more modern feel.

Designed for lower tension, the strings are described as providing a solid fundamental with rich articulation on top. “Rolling off your bass’ tone knob takes you from a modern punchy and articulate sound to that classically deep, mellow thump flatwound strings are famous for,” Dunlop writes.

The strings are available in four and five-string sets with a long 37-inch winding length. Each string has black silk on both ends. They will be available soon with price points around $29.99 for the four-string set and $38.99 for the five-string set.
