Tensor Bass Expands With the Ultralight Jazz Bass Series
Tensor Inc. has expanded their bass guitar offerings with the Ultralight Jazz Bass series. The custom made basses come in four- or five-string versions and are fitted with a pair of Aguilar J-HOT pickups, which feature an over-wound design for a hotter output.

Each bass is built with a chambered maple body and 3-piece, grain oriented maple/mahogany neck with a choice of fingerboards: maple, rosewood, or ebony. Similar to Tensor’s previous models, the Ultralight Jazz Basses are built with the Force Balance system, which replaces a traditional truss rod with a set of compression springs to counter tension in the neck. Check out CEO Thomas Lanni explaining the system here:
Other features include 25 frets, Hipshot hardware, and custom pickguards. The new model is available direct from Tensor with an unlisted price.
