Kiesel Guitars Unveils Vanquish Multiscale Basses

Kiesel Guitars has introduced two new multi-scale versions of their Vanquish bass. The VM49K and VM59K are four- and five-string basses, respectively, that are the Kiesel custom shop’s first multiscale bass instruments. The design includes fanned frets and offers some technical improvements.

Kiesel Guitars Vanquish VM59K Bass

“The advantage of a multiscale bass over a traditional instrument is that the lower strings have a greater string tension thanks to the longer 35.5″ (VM49K) and 36″ (VM59K) scale lengths found on that side of the fretboard, while allowing faster playing on the treble side, which has a more traditional 34″ scale,” Kiesel explains. “However, because of the different gauges of strings used in conjunction with the varying scale length, the lower strings will produce more defined sounds, and the entire instrument will produce more consistent tone.”

Each of the new basses will carry many of the same construction features as other Vanquish basses, including an alder body, Eastern hardrock maple neck, and ebony fingerboard. Kiesel fits the instruments with their Radium radiused-top humbuckers as well as an 18-volt active/passive preamp. As part of the Custom Shop, the VM49K and VM59K have plenty of options for different woods, exotic tops, finishes, hardware, and more.

The Kiesel Guitars Vanquish Multiscale VM49K and VM59K are available for order starting at $1,229 and $1,299.
