Thundercat Announces New Album, Releases Single
Bass monster Thundercat has announced his third studio album, entitled Drunk, will be released on February 24th. The release will have a host of guest artists including Wiz Khalifa, Pharrell, and Kendrick Lamar as well as Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.
The latter two are featured on the track “Show You The Way”, which the bassist just released in advance of the album date. While they may seem like an unusual collaboration, Thundercat has been a fan of the singers for a long time.
“These are guys that I’ve listened to and where I felt that I’ve learned that honesty in the music. Kenny Loggins is one of my favorite songwriters,” he told Red Bull Music Academy. “I think one of the most beautiful moments of it was realizing how amazing Michael McDonald was. He would go through so many ideas and have so much to offer.”

The 23-song album will also feature the previously released tracks “Them Changes” and “Bus in These Streets.” Be sure to check out the bassist’s tour dates.
