Darkglass Electronics Introduces the Alpha Omega Distortion Pedal
Darkglass Electronics wowed NAMM attendees this year with a brand new pedal called the Alpha Omega. Co-designed with Karnivool’s Jon Stockman, the stompbox is a departure from their previous circuits and preamplifiers.
“[The Alpha Omega] is fully operational amplifier based and has two distinct distortion circuits (Alpha and Omega) which can be selected or blended using our Mod knob,” Darkglass writes. “This unusual control, in conjunction with the toggle switches and 3 active band equalizer makes Alpha · Omega the most flexible among our designs.”
The toggle switches are Bite, which boosts high mids, and Growl, which is a shelving bass boost. It also has a Blend knob for dialing in clean signal.
Bassist Adam Aarts got this demo from the NAMM Show floor:
Darkglass also added some extra connectivity with a parallel output plus a direct output with a ground lift. The Alpha Omega is expected to ship in March with a to-be-announced price point.
