Laney Amps Introduces the R500 Head and Combo Amp
Laney Amplification spruced up their Richter Series of bass amps with a new look plus two new models.
“For this show we’ve taken our original Richter range and we’ve given them a facelift,” a Laney rep told us at the NAMM Show. “Richters 1-4 are in the same cosmetic as the Nexus, but we’ve also added two new products: the R500 head and the R500 combo. Both of them have the same preamp compliments, but the R500 head is a really light 500-watt Class D bass head. The R500 combo is the same but in a single 15-inch cabinet.”
Both the head and the combo feature a 10-band graphic EQ with additional bass and treble shelving controls. They also have an on-board compressor and Laney’s Enhance control, which dials in low-end definition. For connectivity, both they are fitted with high and low impedance inputs, an aux input, a headphone output, a footswitch jack, an effects loop, and an XLR direct output.
The Laney Amplification R500 Head and R500-115 Combo will be shipping soon with approximate price points of $420 and $690, respectively.
