Bass of the Week: Anaconda Basses Tribute J5E – Elite
This week we’re taking a look at a beautiful model by the UK’s Anaconda Basses. This particular Anaconda Tribute J5E Elite was built for Joe Sam, a pro bass player from London, with a special twist.
“He’s an avid Prince fan and wanted a bass which had certain design cues to pay tribute to the master,” builder Andrew Taylor-Cummings explains. “The model he chose, was an existing Anaconda model, coincidentally called the Tribute. The body is finished in a stunning Purple Candy burst satin lacquer. For his bass, new features were introduced such as a 24 fret neck, which has a lacquered fingerboard and is oil finished on the back and headstock. The fingerboard has offset Piano style position markers in Ebony.”
Other features include a swamp ash body, a set of Delano P/J hum-cancelling pickups, a Glockenklang 3-band preamp, and Hipshot hardware.
