Bass of the Week: Swan Custom Basses LG II

This week we’re taking a look at a bass from Swan Custom Basses, a small company from Argentina dedicated to low-end frequencies. The Swan LG II is the creation of builders Hernan Goi and Christian Lebied.
“The design is our own. Basically, our idea is to make a bass that’s comfortable, ergonomic and with a low weight to avoid fatigue,” Lebied states.
The contoured single-cut body is built from mahogany and topped with cypress. Its three-piece neck is crafted from maple with a birdseye maple stripe in the center, while Swan opted for a rosewood fingerboard.
The Swan LG II’s Alnico V dual coil pickups are special-made for the company by fellow Argentinian manufacturer Lake Pickups. Other features include a bronze nut, a Mike Pope preamp, and Hipshot hardware.
