Fodera Unveils the Madrone Burl Monarch 5 Standard Special Bass

Fodera has expanded their Standard Specials line of instruments with the Madrone Burl Monarch 5 Standard Special. Built around the Monarch model, the bass has a new combination of woods with a mahogany body, Madrone Burl top, a three-piece maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard. Fodera says the real difference is in the pickups as it is the first Standard model to feature Aguilar Super Doubles.

“These pickups deliver a thick and punchy tone and provide a great lower midrange growl,” the company writes. “They are completely hum-canceling and paired with our Standard 3-band preamp, deliver great tonal flexibility. Tonally, this bass delivers warm lows, a rich midrange, and a smooth yet articulate top end, great for a variety of playing styles.”

As part of the Standard Special series, the new Madrone Burl Monarch 5 will be made in limited supply and only available through Fodera’s dealer network. A price was not available at the time of this article.
