Bass of the Week: Padalka Guitars Neptune Bass No. 125

Padalka Guitars went for something a little different on this particular build of their Neptune bass. To begin, they made it a four-string with a longer 35-inch scale and 26 frets. As with the standard Neptune model, it features a Hipshot headless tuning system.
Padalka crafted the bass with a one-piece Black Limba body topped with a stunning piece of Box Elder. Its carbon fiber-reinforced neck is also Black Limba, which is matched with a zebrawood fretboard. While the fretboard is left to show off the wood grain, Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots help as position markers.
Padalka also went a little out of the norm by fitting the body with a pair of Dimarzio DP705’s (which are marketed as 7-string guitar pickups) with a volume control and a three-way pickup selector switch.
