Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy Releases Live CD/DVD

Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy - LiveEmerson, Lake, and Palmer helped to push the boundaries of what rock musicians could do. Sadly, Emerson and Lake have passed away, but drummer Carl Palmer is still carrying the torch of their musical legacy. His latest release, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy – Live, is a 2-CD and DVD package dedicated to his fallen friends.

“I am so pleased to have been able to dedicate a DVD to Keith and Greg,” Palmer writes on his website. “I am still thinking about all the great times we had. The music is strong and my memories will be with me for ever! Emerson Lake and Palmer Lives On!”

Captured across two concerts in New York and Miami, the album features Palmer’s guitar trio instead of replicating Emerson’s keyboard. Guitarist Paul Bielatowicz and bassist Simon Fitzpatrick join forces with the drummer to tear through ELP and ELP-related songs like “Hoedown”, “Peter Gunn”, “The Barbarian”, “Lucky Man”, and more. “It’s metal prog-rock playing Emerson, Lake and Palmer,” Palmer adds. “It’s original and unique, and that’s important to me.”

It also has guest appearances by Steve Hackett and Mark Stein. The album is available now in its CD/DVD combo with the audio available as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
