Jeroen Paul Thesseling Working On Second Salazh Trio Album
The Salazh Trio is working on their second album called Saturations, according to bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling. The Dutch-Cuban jazz fusion group, which also features pianist Hans Grotenbreg and drummer Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, is expanding on their material from their first release.
“After our debut release, we wanted to continue writing material to extend the trio’s style,” Thesseling shares. “At this point, no release date has been set for Saturations. When this second chapter is finished we’ll focus on opportunities for live performances.”
Thesseling plays a seven-string fretless bass and is also known for his work in the heavy metal realm. The Salazh Trio’s debut album, Circulations, came out late last year. Hear the title track for a taste of the band’s sound:
