Frank Bello: Next Anthrax Album Will Be Heaviest Ever

Anthrax’s Frank Bello promises their next album will be their heaviest yet. In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, he revealed that the veteran metalheads will begin writing sessions for their twelfth studio album in January 2019.
“We’re gonna go heavy — heavier than ever, I think,” he said. “That’s just the vibe. There’s an inner anger, which I think is great for songwriting.” Anthrax won’t lose their signature chorus hooks, though. “I just wanna hear melody with my music,” Bello added. “Anthrax has always been a melodic metal band.”
Anthrax has been on the Slayer Final World Tour this past year, but they’re not planning their own farewell anytime soon. “There’s been, like, this rebirth of people noticing the band and it makes you hungrier,” he told the paper. “This is a very, very hungry band, Anthrax. Maybe it’s our New York mentality; I don’t know what it is, but there’s a very fierce energy going on within the band. We can’t wait to see what’s next. So, if anything, we’re just getting started, I think. There’s a whole new generation of kids and fans coming out. I think our fanbase is growing big-time.”
