Anthony Wellington Announces Bassology at Sea 2019
Bassist and world-class educator Anthony Wellington has announced the second Bassology at Sea cruise, which will take place November 9th through the 16th, 2019. The seven-night Caribbean cruise leaves from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and will include tons of bass instruction with stops in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas.
This time we’re offering a WHOPPING 22 hours of lessons on the cruise plus 2 hours on Skype before the cruise!,” Wellington wrote on Facebook. “That’s almost $2000 worth of education alone. And remember, that’s independent of what’s available on the cruise and the 4 amazing countries that we’re gonna’ visit!”
Topics covered on in the course of the week will include applying music theory, the role of the bass, and understanding rhythmic subdivisions and time signatures. Master classes will include bass-specific topics like dexterity, knowing the notes of your bass, and the components of sound. Additionally, a high-end custom Alpher Instruments bass will be awarded to a deserving student that attends the cruise.
