Aguilar Announces the Super Split Bass Pickup

Aguilar Super Split Bass PickupAguilar has expanded their offering of split-coil bass pickups with the Super Split. The hum-canceling pickups are built in a soapbar shape and designed to create “rich bass tone – crisp and open treble, barking midrange and huge lows.”

“The Super Splits feature 42-gauge Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets. Because of their split coil design, they are also hum-canceling,” Aguilar explains. “These pickups sound great passive or can be paired with an onboard preamp, such as Aguilar’s OBP-1, 2 or 3, for the ultimate in tonal flexibility.”

They come in sets for four or five-string basses with each pickup calibrated for either the neck or bridge position. The Aguilar Super Splits are wound in New York City and will be available starting February 1st. They carry prices of $198 for the AG 4SSP-D1 and $232 for the AG 5SSP-D2.
