Jackson Introduces JS Series Spectra Basses
Jackson Guitars announced the new JS Series Spectra line of basses, which includes the JS Series Spectra Bass JS2, JS Series Spectra Bass JS3and JS Series Spectra Bass JS3V. Debuted at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show, each of the basses feature a new offset poplar Spectra body shape that has a large upper horn for evenly distributing weight.
The JS2 is a four-string model fitted with a P/J pickup configuration and a bass boost in addition to blend and volume controls. The active bass boost circuit is engaged or bypassed with a push/pull selector. Its bolt-on maple neck has a scarf joint and is topped with a 12-inch radius laurel fingerboard. Jackson offers the JS2 in Gloss Black, Metallic Blue, Snow White, and Tobacco Burst colors.
Things take a step up for the four-string JS3 and the five-string JS3V. These two basses have graphite reinforcement added to the neck for stability and a 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard for comfort. The pickups are a pair of passive Jackson medium-output humbuckers that have a two-way toggle switch for coil splitting. Other features include a bypassable 3-band EQ, blend control, and volume control. The JS3 comes in Gloss Black, Metallic Red or Silverburst while the JS3V comes in Satin Black, Silverburst, and Walnut Stain.
The Jackson JS Series Spectra Basses will be shipping soon with prices of $199.99 for the JS2, $299.99 for the JS3, and $349.99 for the JS3V.
