Fender Previews the Rarities Flame Ash Top Jazz Bass
Among the new releases Fender previewed at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show was the Rarities Series, which they called “an upscale, boutique series of 9 models crafted in Corona, California.” One of those nine instruments is the Rarities Flame Ash Top Jazz Bass.
The bass is built with a two-piece alder body with a plasma red burst flame ash top. Its maple neck features a slim “64 C” profile, which is topped with a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard. Other features include a pair of Pure Vintage 64 single coil pickups, vintage style hardware, and a four-saddle bridge.
The Rarities Series is being released throughout the year. The Rarities Flame Ash Top Jazz Bass is scheduled to be released in November with a price point of $2,499.99.

Way too overpriced for a fancy topped “jazz bass”
For that money you get a visible ground strip, single coil pickups that hum, no electronics, a cheap bridge and a plastic nut. That’s how you keep Sire in business.
