Eastwood Custom Shop Unveils the Backlund 100 Bass

The Eastwood Custom Shop has collaborated with designer John Backlund once again to create the Backlund 100 Bass. Modeled after the retro-futuristic guitar, the bass is built with an offset and angular mahogany body matched to a mahogany neck. Its fingerboard is pau ferro.
Eastwood builds the bass with set neck construction and a shorter 32-inch scale. Its pickups are a pair of Backlund JB single coils that are selected with a three-way blade style switch. Other features include chrome hardware, 22 frets, and a polyurethane finish. It comes in metallic black, metallic red, and metallic blue.
The Eastwood Custom Shop Backlund 100 Bass was introduced via the company’s crowd-funding platform. As such, it is available for pre-order and will go into production once their goal of $1,800 is met. The deposit is $150 with a final price of $1,249.
