Gallien-Krueger Announces Legacy Series Bass Amps

Gallien-Krueger Legacy Series Bass Amp

Gallien-Krueger is set to start shipping a new line of amps next month called the Legacy Series. The range coincides with fifty years of bass amp designs from Bob Gallien.

“Bob Gallien remains at the helm of the company, still working in the lab daily, as he did in the beginning, to create the best sounding, most versatile, and reliable professional bass gear available. Because the Legacy Series shares the same designer as the 800RB, it shares the same DNA and the same level of innovation, with a more evolved feature set and construction concept.”

The series includes three models in three different powers: 500 watts, 800 watts, or 1200 watts. Each is fitted with a Class D power section to reduce weight. Their build quality also takes the wear and tear into consideration.

“To improve performance and reliability, the Legacy Series uses a unique interconnection system that eliminates problems that can develop over time from constant vibration and temperature extremes that gear is subjected to with heavy use. Using circuit boards with gold plated connectors, rather than cables with standard tin connectors, this type of construction delivers a more pure, reliable sound.”

Common features to each amp are a 4-band EQ, an overdrive with tone shaping, three voicing filters, a balanced DI with pre and post EQ, an effects loop, an aux input, and a headphone output. GK also fits them with a load capacity selection to deliver power into 2, 2.7, 4 and 8-ohm cabinet configurations.

The Gallien-Krueger Legacy series bass amps will be shipping May 2019 with price points of $749, $899, and $1,049.

I totally agree my friend , i am a great fan of GK and i still have my 1980’s RB800. They should not call legacy to product made just like a Mark Bass but wit just a vintage GK look. If its legacy its LEGACY!!
I was so happy reading the post and suddenly i read ”Class D amp” , i just thought – WHAT????
Nothing against the class D lovers but please don’t call it Legacy GK.
