Cage the Elephant Releases “Social Cues”
Cage the Elephant has returned with their fifth studio album, entitled Social Cues. It is once again anchored by bassist Daniel Tichenor, who offers up driving bass lines that tie the songs together.
His tone helps to evoke the sound of what Brad Shultz revealed was part of the musical direction for the album: the soundtracks from John Carpenter horror movies from the ’80s.
Hear Tichenor’s cool descending chromatic bass line in the chorus for “Ready to Let Go”:
Social Cues is available now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
