Steely Dan to Play Full Albums, Hits on New Tour
Steely Dan fans rejoice: the band has announced a new tour that will include several residencies in which they will play their albums in full. The group, now fronted by Donald Fagen after Walter Becker’s passing, will be performing the albums Aja, The Royal Scam, Gaucho, and more over several nights in New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Now anchored by bassist Freddie Washington, the band will begin with a show in Youngstown, Ohio in late August before covering the Midwest and heading to California. They’ll shoot across the country to New York in October, where a six-night stay at the Beacon Theater will include performances of Aja, The Royal Scam, Gaucho, and The Nightfly as well as a “popular demand” setlist and a night of greatest hits. They’ll play the albums over five nights at Boston’s Orpheum Theater before wrapping up the tour with Aja, Gaucho, and their greatest hits over three nights at The Met in Philly.
Steely Dan has always had a wealth of bassists, Washington included, so this is sure to be an incredible run.
