Bay Area born “Ready” Freddie Washington is definitely in the conversation for being one of the most iconic bassists of all time. (OAKLAND, BABY!!) His tone and feel on that ’72 P Bass is unmistakable. He’s been on tons of sessions and live dates over the years, ranging from Steely Dan, Patrice Rushen, Anita Baker, Herbie Hancock, Diane Reeves, and many more.

In this interview with Vertex Effects, Freddie speaks on a multitude of subjects and also breaks down some of his most iconic lines.
