Bill Wyman

Former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman was always a little different from his bandmates. Now you’ll get to see his side of the story in a new film called The Quiet One, which Wyman’s personal archive to detail his life.

“Opening up his vast personal archive—a lifetime’s worth of previously unseen home movies, photographs, and memorabilia—Wyman reflects on his early years with The Stones, the band’s meteoric rise to fame, and his search for a sense of ‘normalcy’ amidst the whirlwind of sex, drugs, and rebellion,” the movie’s description explains.

Wyman played bass for the Rolling Stones from 1962 to 1993 and since then has been recording and touring with his band the Rhythm Kings. He’s kept a journal since he was a child and was always interested in documenting his experiences. Stones guitarist Keith Richards recalls his early days with the band as saying, “It is all a bit of a haze to me. If I wanted to remember what I did in those years, I’d have to ask Bill Wyman.”
