Bassist and educator Roy Vogt will be bringing the thunder to Nashville once again during the Summer NAMM Show. The 9th Annual Thunder Row Bass Invitational is set to take place July 18-20 at Douglas Corner Cafe from 7pm to 11:30pm

Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus has launched a shop on Reverb to auction off nearly 80 pieces of his music gear. Ranging from basses to amps to microphones, the auction benefits the Trevor Project which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention to LGBTQ youth.

Meshell Ndegeocello made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman back in 1996 in support of her album, “Peace Beyond Passion.” Great song and performance by the one and only Meshell!

Former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman was always a little different from his bandmates. Now you’ll get to see his side of the story in a film called “The Quiet One,” which Wyman’s personal archive to detail his life.

Electro-Harmonix has introduced the Tri Parallel Mixer, which they call a “powerful effects creation and mixing hub.” The unit has three separate effects loops with controls that allow for multiple configurations.

Guitarist Chandresh Kudwa’s “Free Spirit” is a pretty amazing instrumental rock record, which features bassist Mohini Dey and drummer Gino Banks. “Disco Chicken”, the album’s second track, is a fun ride.

Chick Corea has a new project called the Spanish Heart Band that has released their first album, called “Antidote.” The jazz pianist partially revisits his classic album, “My Spanish Heart,” for the record. The band is full of jazz luminaries including bassist Carlitos del Puerto.

For the first time in nearly two decades, the Cro-Mags have released new music. The NYC Hardcore band, led by bassist/vocalist Harley Flanagan, dropped a three-track EP called “Don’t Give In” that marks their first new music since 2000’s “Revenge.”

On-Stage has released a new pedal power supply bank called the PS901 that’s designed to drive an array of effects. The unit, which will debut at Summer NAMM this year, has nine fully isolated outputs with individual LEDs.

I dig the sound of the Valeriy Stepanov Fusion Project. This extended video offers up some stellar, funky music and tunes from a live performance of the band, which includes bassist Albert Stepanov.
